David Marx Jr. was the son of Rabbi David Marx and Eleanor Rosenfeld Marx. He discusses his family including the coming of his father, Rabbi Marx, to Atlanta, his marriage to Eleanor Rosenfeld and his assumption of the position of rabbi at the Temple. He discusses his life as a prominent rabbi's son, his childhood, the growth of the Jewish community in Atlanta, Jewish-Jewish relations (between Russian and German Jews), the social life of the Jewish community, episodes of antisemitism and the aftermath of the Leo M. Frank murder case and lynching on the Jewish community, his business history and Jews in business in Atlanta, and the Atlanta Jewish response to the news of the Holocaust in World War II.
