Sherry Zimmerman Frank was born in and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She married Leonard Frank and had four children. She has served the Atlanta Jewish community for 25 plus years in a number of capacities in many organizations including the American Jewish Committee, the Black-Jewish Coalition and the National Council of Jewish Women. She was on the board of Ahavath Achim, was a member of UNESCO for the United Nations, and was a major player in the Committee on Soviet Jewry. She has been extensively involved in political campaigns at the local, state and national levels. She has received numerous awards for her work in interfaith relations, Jewish/Black relations, civil rights activism and her work with Jewish youth. Sherry Frank discusses her childhood and family but dwells extensively on her community activities, including working with prominent Jewish leaders and politicans at the local, state and national levels such as Coretta Scott King and many others.
