Rabbi David Baylinson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1929. In 1951 he entered Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati to study to be a rabbi. He was ordained in 1957. In 1965, Rabbi Baylinson, his wife and four children moved to Montgomery, Alabama to where he assumed the pulpit at Temple Beth Or. He remained at Beth Or until his retirement in 1994. During his tenure, Rabbi Baylinson served as a teacher of Judaism to the community. He organized a Chruch Women's Institute on Judaism with the cooperation of the Women's Interfaith Council. The collection consists of newspaper articles, speeches, correspondence and the constitution from Kahl Montgomery, Montgomery, Alabama, 1937.
