Rabbi Ronald Gerson is the rabbi for Congregation Children of Israel, a reform congregation in Athens, Georgia. Tammy (Tamra) Gerson is his wife. Rabbi Gerson came to the Temple in 1990 and as of 2011 he was still there. Both discuss their families and roots (the Rabbi was born and educated in California) and Tammy, the daughter of a rabbi, was raised in various places across the country. Rabbi Gerson's father own a clothing store. They discuss their role in the life of the Temple, their children, their thoughts on Reform Judaism, the events of September 11, 2001, politics, intermarriage and conversion, Israel, antisemitism, and the Arab-Israeli situation, including the peace process as of 2001, and the future of Judaism in the United States.
