Left to right, standing: Helga Strauss Gutmann, Fritz Becker, Liesel Mosbach, Lottie Firesem, Trude Friesem, Jenny Sczeck (in black), Max Blecher, Paul Hoffman, Elsa Cohen and Inge Kahn. In the back, standing: Sigbert Strauss, Ludwig Strauss (Lester Salten), Hans Stern and Erich Cohen. Of these children, Liesel and Gretel Mosbach were murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau and Max Blecher escaped to Russia, but then returned and was murdered by the Germans. Helga Strauss Gutmann and her brother Sigbert both survived and immigrated to the United States.
