President Harry Truman takes the Presidential salute in Berlin during the playing of the national anthem during the flag raising. The "Flag of Liberation" used during the ceremony flew over the Capitol in Washington, D.C. on December 7, 1941. It was raised in Rome, Italy on the day of its libertion on July 4, 1944. Left to right: General Dwight D. Eisenhower, General George S. Patton, Jr., President Harry S. Truman, Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson, and General Omar N. Bradley. Others are unidentified.
