Balser Barbara OHC.JPG

Barbara Bernstein Balser grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She attended Brandeis University, then Boston University, from which she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She married Robert Friedland in 1961 and moved to Atlanta. She describes her acrimonius divorce from Robert Friedland and her eventual remarriage to Ronald Balser. She forged a career in the life insurance business and has served on numerous boards of philanthropic and community organizations. She has six children: Barton, Dan, Jon, Jonathan, Ginger, and Laura.
