Jewish Family and Children's Bureau (Atlanta, Ga.)

This was one of the intermediate incarnations that began with the Hebrew Orphans' Home which was an actual orphanage. Later, institutional care ceased and Jewish Family and Children's Bureau (and another variation of its name - Jewish Children's Services) placed children in foster homes and worked with adoptions. Thereafter, adoptions were taken over by the current Jewish Family and Career Services and the Jewish Family and Children's Service morphed into the Jewish Educational Loan Fund, which extends educational loans.
