Rose Auerbach Clein came to Atlanta in 1921 from Harbin, Manchuria with her mother whose own mother lived here. In 1933 she married Sidney Clein, whose family came from Ireland, and whose grandfather was one of the founders of the Temple. Rose reflects on her childhood, learning English, the neighborhoods she grew up in, her marriage to Sidney Clein, who was a jeweler (Sidney Clein Jewelry Company), her two daughters, and Sidney's death in 1991. Rose has dedicated herself to a life of community service including with the Amit Women, William Breman Jewish Home, Grady Hospital and others. For her work at the William Breman Jewish Home she was awarded the Rose Clein Humanitarian Award.
