Lyons Joel Heyman was born in Atlanta in 1928, but his parents moved to Rome, Georgia when he was 9 years old. His father was in the furniture manufacturing industry in Rome. Lyons Joel Heyman recounts his family life and childhood years in Rome as well as his parent's participation in the Jewish life of the community. He married Helene Marks in 1949 and raised a family of three children. He relates sixty years of Jewish life in Rome.
