Abrams Bernard OHC.JPG

Bernard Abrams has a long distinguished career of voluntarism in the business and Jewish community in Atlanta. In this oral history, he mostly discusses his military career and although he includes a curriculum vitae regarding his volunteer and business activities, he does not touch on them in any great depth. Instead he recounts his experience at the United States Military Academy at West Point and his career as an officer during the Korean War in which he was badly wounded. He was heavily decorated and after retirement from the military he was appointed a Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army in 1978. He discusses his relationships with many of the high army officers from World War II to the current day.
