Oberdorfer Saralyn OHC.JPG

Saralyn Oberdorfer was deeply involved in Atlanta and Georgia educational programs. She grew up all over the south and southeast because her father was a professional baseball player. Their family finally settled in San Francisco, California. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and then the University of North Carolina in Asheville, North Carolina where she was recognized as a student leader. After school she married Eugene Oberdorfer II, who is in the insurance business. She became a teacher, became heavily involved in PTAs, and then moved into the public policy realm as a member of the Georgia State Board of Education. She later took up many other educational issues in Georgia.
