The Jewish Vocational Service was founded in December 1975 by the Atlanta Jewish Federation to serve the unemployed and in particular refugees from the Soviet Union. The service was an outgrowth of a volunteer effort by Gate City Lodge of B'nai B'rith. In 1986 Jewish Vocational Service became an agency of the united Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. The collection consists of a cookbook produced by the Senior Adult Workshop.
